Terms of Business

Once a Treatment has been booked and accepted by Sophie Handa Reiki (either via telephone, email or online), then the client will have entered into an agreement with Sophie Handa Reiki to have a treatment based on the following terms & conditions.

​Payment – I respectfully ask that clients make payment for their treatment via bank transfer, PayPal or cash either before or at the time of treatment, thank you. Non payment will result in no treatment. If paying online please use your name as reference.

Cancellations – A minimum of 24 hour’s notice is required (from the start of your appointment time) if you wish to change or cancel your appointment time or date. No charge will be made if you give more than 24 hour’s notice to change, cancel or re-book your appointment. However, if you wish to cancel or change your appointment with less than 24 hour’s notice, or do not turn up for your appointment, then full payment will be required. To change or re-book an appointment, within 24 hour’s notice, will be discretionary.

Late/Early Arrival – If you arrive early for your in-person appointment please wait outside and message to say you are here. If you arrive late for your appointment, I will endeavour to accommodate you, but may need to finish you appointment at the scheduled time, cutting your session short. The full amount for the treatment will still be due.

Prices – the prices listed for my treatments are subject to change without notification. However, I will always endeavour to notify all my clients of any impending changes to treatment prices with as much notice as possible.

Refusal to Treat a Client – I have the right to cancel, refuse or discontinue to treat a client at any point. Circumstances where this may apply, but are not limited to, are : the client is under the influence of either alcohol or recreational drugs, the client behaves in an inappropriate way, the client becomes unwell during a treatment in any way.

Medical Issues – Reiki Healing Energy does not take the place of conventional medical treatment. If you are concerned about a serious or urgent condition, please see your GP before booking a treatment.

Children – Clients under the age of 18 are welcome to come for Reiki, but they must be accompanied by a parent/legal guardian, who will have to sign and give the written consent for the treatment. The parent/legal guardian will need to remain with the child throughout their treatment.

I take my data privacy responsibilities seriously and want you to understand and feel confident about how I collect, store and use your personal data during our relationship and interactions.

What is Personal Data? Personal data may include information such as name, address, email address, telephone number. On your first treatment, I will ask you for these and more information such as your GP and any medical information relating to your health you need to share.

The information I have about you comes from you and from your use of my site when contacting me. I do not share your information outside of my business and I would never sell your information.

I have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal information being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed.

How long will I keep your information? I will keep your information for as long as I continue to have offer you my treatments and once we come to the end of an agreement, it will be kept for a period of up to 4 years afterwards.

Changes to my privacy policy – updates may be made periodically to my privacy policy, in line with regulations. Please do check back, from time to time, to ensure you have read the latest edition.

I will never share or sell your information to any organisation for marketing purposes. If you believe any information I hold on your is incorrect, please contact me as soon as possible and this will be promptly amended.
